Veronika Schulz - Violin
Born in Vienna
Violin studies with Alfred Staar and Gerhard Schulz. Graduation with distinction in violin performance from the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna in 2001.
Masterclasses with Rainer Kussmaul and Gerhard Korsten. Chamber music courses at the Sandor Vegh Academy (Prague) with Menahem Pressler and with members of the Alban Berg Quartet and the Haydn Trio Vienna.
Numerous prizes at the Austrian competition Jugend musiziert. Prizes as violonist in the VIENNarte trio at the Charles Hennen Concours in Holland (1997, 1998) as well as the Special Prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music at the 1st International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna in 2001. Finalist at the 1998 International Music Competition of the ARD in Munich.
Soloist with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and at the St. Gallen Summer Festival. Solo and chamber music recitals in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Holland, England, Turkey, South America, Japan and Oman.
Chamber music performances with the Bartok Quartet and with members of the Vienna and Berliner Philharmonic Orchestras amongst others.
Numerous recitals with the VIENNarte trio; including appearances in the concert series Jeunesse musicales, Vienna Klangbogen, Neuberger Kulturtage, Musica Juventutis, in the 2002 Haydn Trio series in Vienna Konzerthaus, in the 2003 Salzburger Mozartwoche, with the Ensemble Wien-Berlin at the Festival Bonheur Musical (France) as well as the Rheingau Music Festival and Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany).
CD recordings with the VIENNarte trio featuring works by Beethoven and Brahms as well as the Bartolozzi trios by Haydn (Campanella Musica/SFB Berlin). CD´s presented on several radio stations.
Participation in various orchestras, including the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, in the Vienna and Salzburg Chamber Philharmonias, the German Chamber Philharmonia of Bremen, Camerata Salzburg, The Vienna Johann-Strauss-Orchestra and the Vienna Academy.
Lecturer at Jeunesse Musicales music camps, Vienna University summer classes and the Neuberger Kulturtage. Since 2001 teaching position in violin at the J.G. Albrechtsberger Musikschule of Klosterneuburg.
