Julia Schreyvogel - Cello
Born in Vienna
First cello lessons at the age of seven with Cecilie Ottensamer. From 1995 studies at the Berlin Hochschule of the Arts under Wolfgang Boettcher; graduation in 1999. Degree in cello performance at Vienna Konservatorium with distinction.
Masterclasses with Boris Pergamentschikov and Janos Starker, at the Sandor Vegh Academy (Prague) and with Menahem Pressler. Further studies with members of the Alban Berg Quartet and the Vienna Haydn Trio.
Numerous prizes in the Austrian Competition Jugend musiziert, Vienna Symphonic Special Prize (1993), Carl Flesch Academy of Baden Baden Furtherance Prize (1994).
Prizewinner in the international chamber music competition Charles Hennen Concours in Holland as cellist in the VIENNarte trio (1997, 1998), finalist at the 1998 International Music Competition of the ARD in Munich, and recipient of the Special Prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music at the 1rst International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna in 2001. CD recordings with the VIENNarte trio featuring works by Beethoven and Brahms as well as the Bartolozzi trios by Haydn (Campanella Musica/SFB Berlin). CD´s presented on several radio stations.
Since 1998 concerto soloist both in and outside of Austria with orchestras such as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra and the Vienna Konservatorium Orchestra.
Chamber music performances with the VIENNarte trio and other ensembles in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Holland, South America and Japan. Participation in the Beethoven concert series in Reichenau/Rax with Elisabeth Leonskaja, in the series Musica Juventutis and Forum for Young Artists in the Vienna Konzerthaus, in the Podium for the Young series in Vienna Musikverein, in the Vienna Klangbogen series, in the Festival Bonheur Musical (France) with the Ensemble Wien-Berlin, as well as in the Rheingau Music Festival and Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany).
2001/2002 solo cellist in the Camerata Salzburg Orchestra. Reserve player for the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and from 2003 to 2004 engagement with the Bamberger Symphoniker.
